Outreach in media and channels
The research magazine Gemini (Norwegian SciTech News in English) covers new research findings from NTNU and SINTEF.
Contact the editorial team with tips about your research that could be a relevant story in Gemini.
Anyone can contact the media to provide story tips, or submit an op-ed / article.

Many researchers share their research on their own social media accounts. Need advice? Contact the communications team at the faculty.
The faculties of AD, IE, IV, MH, and NV have accounts on multiple platforms. For more information, visit the respective faculty websites. Send research tips to the communications team at the faculty.

Individual blog post on NTNU News. See guidance with advice and tips. Contact the communications team at the faculty.

In Norwegian only: Store norske leksikon – SNL (the Great Norwegian Encyclopedia) has more than 130 subject editors and contributing editors from NTNU, covering over 650 subject areas. Contact the SNL editorial team if you would like to become a subject editor or edit articles – but please remember that SNL it's a Norwegian Encyclopeidia.
Wikipedia: You can send a tip to the communications team at your faculty or others you know who contribute to the encyclopedia.

Pages are set up with a template tailored to the content. We use a specific template when NTNU has partners.
Why you should use NTNU's website. We do not recommend using other websites than NTNU, nor external agencies.
Visual content
Panopto: NTNU's video platform where you can create, store, and manage videos.
YouTube: NTNU is gradually moving away from YouTube in favor of Panopto.
WeVideo: Cloud-based software for video and sound editing. Log in with your regular NTNU user.
Tools and resources: Available for video and multimedia tasks.
Recording studios for sound and video in Trondheim, Gjøvik and Ålesund.
Framework agreements: Search in NTNU's contract catalogue.

Advice and assistance: Section for teaching, learning and digital services can provide advice and assistance when they have the capacity (the section primarily works with credit-bearing video production).
Logo, templates and our graphic profile is a topic page about logos, graphic profile and materials, promotional items, and printed materials.
The Graphic centre offers consulting, infographic and visualization of research, conference materials, and more.

Many researchers take their own photos. Consent is required from individuals who are to be photographed or filmed.
Some faculties have their own photographers. NTNU also uses several freelance photographers. Contact the communications team at the faculty.
NTNU's media bank: Images can be downloaded for use. Log in via Feide.
Colourbox: Stock photo service where you can obtain a school license.

Tips
Target audience and channel: Adapt your message to your audience and the communication channel.
The most important first: Don't save the best for last.
Clear language: Avoid heavy language and explain technical terms.
Visual content: Use visuals to make understanding easier.
Examples: Relate your message to concrete, everyday situations.
Take initiative: Relatively few researchers are contacted frequently by the media.
Media coverage
Employees can access Atekst, a media archive in Retriever, which specializes in media monitoring and analysis.
For an overview of media coverage where you are mentioned, contact the communications team at the faculty.
Buying publicity is usually not recommended (page in Norwegian).
