Regulations relating to short-term booking of events
Events and activities that are part of NTNU’s core business: research, education, innovation and communication; can be held in venues at NTNU. Private events such as confirmations and weddings are not allowed on NTNU’s premises.
These can book venues:
- Employees and students at NTNU
- Faculties and institutes
- External organisations, companies and NTNU’s service providers
Before booking, consider:
- Who manages/owns the local?
- How many guests do you expect?
- Universal design, is it accessible for handicap?
- Do you need meeting rooms/group rooms in addition?
- Will you have catering?
- Will you have a tour?
- Catering agreements?
- Parking?
- Photo/media-friendly?
- Induction loop or IR system?
- Mingling area?
- Is a risk assessment needed?
Before arranging events involving operations, cleaning, security, or technical solutions, you must go through the checklist they have before booking. Use the form "Søknad om arrangement Ålesund". If you want to use NTNU’s own premises in Ålesund, most are reserved via the room reservation system. Employees can book teaching rooms for the entire semester after the timetable for the relevant semester is set.

Broa A & Broa B
Broa A and Broa B at Kompasset are for meetings, workshops, continuing and further education, courses, etc. Applications must be submitted at least three days before the room can be used. The application must also be approved before the room can be used.
- Broa A has 20 tables with space for 40 people.
- Broa B has 6 group tables with space for 36 people. The seminar area has access to a mini kitchen.
Between the two rooms, there is a mingling area with a sofa. The entire area, including the teaching room, seminar room, and mini kitchen, must be booked as one (separate rental is not possible). The room cannot be scheduled for continuous semester teaching.
Rundskue
Rundskue on the 3rd floor in Ankeret is booked via your institute. The institute leader and office manager are the “key persons” and have access. A similar arrangement exists in departments/sections with a few “key persons” who assist their colleagues there.
- Be aware if you ask your institute leader or office manager to book Rundskue for you. When you arrive at the room for a Teams meeting you have organized, you must normally start the Teams meeting from your own laptop. Then you invite Rundskue to the meeting. After starting the meeting from your own laptop, go to “People” and search for “Ålesund Ankeret.” The meeting room Rundskue will then appear. After this, you can leave the meeting from your own laptop. The meeting continues on Teams in the room (see also the illustration below).
