Deadlines for applying for an exchange study period or placement practice abroad.

Main application deadlines

  • 1 February for exchange in the autumn semester or for a whole acadeemic year. 
  • 12 September for exchange in the spring semester.
  • The deadlines are also applicable for field work and for those with professional practice as parts of the exchange.

Exceptions from the main deadlines

Canada and the US

Exchange in the autumn Exchange in the spring

Deadline 12 September the year before departure:

  • Texas A&M (TAMU) Engineering
    • Admission letters arrives in May/JunE

Deadline 20 January:

  • Texas A&M (TAMU) (everything except engineering)
  • University of Hawaii, Manoa (HOAKIPA stipend)
  • University of Minnesota (computer science) 

All other institutions: 1 February

Deadline 1 February the year before departure:

  • Texas A&M University (TAMU)
  • University of Washington
  • University of Winnipeg  

Frist 20. august:

  • University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) (exchange in january)
  • University of Waterloo, Canada
  • Michigan Technological University (MTU)
  • University of Hawaii, Manoa (HOAKIPA stipend)
  • University of Michigan

 

Deadline 1 September:

  • Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada
  • University of Waterloo, Canada
  • Colorado School of Mines (CSM)
  • Texas Tech University (TTU)
  • University of California, Davis
  • University of Maryland (UMD)
  • University of Minnesota
  • University of Oklahoma
  • University of Wisconsin, Madison 

All other institutions: 12 September

These are the deadlines to have submitted your application for exchange to NTNU if you wish to exchange to one of these institutions. Changes in deadlines may occur. 

Japan, Singapore and South Korea

Spring Semester

  • The deadline to apply for exchange to these countries is 1 September

Autumn semester or whole year

  • Kyoto University, Japan has an extraordinarly early dealine: 15 January
  • The deadline to apply to other institutions in these countries for exchange in the spring semester or for a whole year is 20 January
