Employers and others can have the validity of a Diploma or a Transcript of records issued by NTNU assessed. Here you find information on how you can verify student information at NTNU.

If you need to verify student information at NTNU, you can request an assessment of it. You can do this either by asking the student/former student to send you the results from the Diploma Registry or by contacting NTNU directly.

Diploma registry

Completed degrees and passed courses can be retrieved directly from the institution's database through the Diploma Registry. Only the student/former student themselves can share the information through this service.

The Diploma Registry:

• makes it easy for employers and educational institutions to receive results
• ensures that the shared information is valid

There are multiple things you can look for to check that the results are coming from the Diploma Registry:

• Emails with links from the Diploma Registry will have ikkesvar@vitnemalsportalen.no as the sender.
• The link address (the URL) will start with https://vitnemalsportalen.no/...
• After clicking the link, an icon showing a padlock will appear next to the link address

The shared results can be downloaded as a PDF file. This PDF is digitally signed. Learn more about how you can verify a digitally signed PDF.

When students cannot use the Diploma Registry

If the student/former student cannot use the Diploma Registry, NTNU can confirm student information. Send us information about the person in question to the Oracle Service. You can contact us by sending an email to studentservice@adm.ntnu.no or through our contact form in NTNU Help.

Please include the following information in your inquiry:

• the student’s complete name, including any former names, and date of birth
• degree awarded
• the year degree was awarded
• the student's signature to authorise release of the information
• a scanned copy of the document (if available)
