Norsk versjon: Levere doktorgradsavhandling
Topic page about PhD planning | Pages labeled with PhD

Prior to handing in your thesis, you must have completed the compulsory coursework component of at least 30 ECTS. You can check for yourself which courses are registered as completed at Studentweb.

Along with your thesis, you have to hand in an application for having your doctoral thesis evaluated for the degree of PhD. The number of copies and which attachments to include will depend on your faculty.

If your funding has ended and you do not have a new employer when submitting your thesis or if your employer requires confirmation, you may ask the faculty for confirmation that you have handed in your thesis.

Faculty of Architecture and Design

The application for evaluation of the thesis must be submitted to the coordinator at the Faculty. A manuscript (pdf) with a complete thesis, preface, abstract and any appendices are submitted to the coordinator after the main supervisor and head of department have recommended/signed the standardized forms. The front page of the thesis should normally only have one logo: the NTNU logo. In case of joint degrees (joint degrees or cotutelle), the logos of both institutions may be used.

Proposals for the composition of the evaluation committee are made by the department. The proposed members must have been consulted beforehand and have agreed to serve before the proposal is submitted to the Faculty. The proposal must be accompanied by a complete list of titles, names and addresses, declarations of impartiality and CVs of the proposed committee members.
