Gymnasium Training

  • Mondays from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM: Group training with Sit in the gymnasium (located in Lanterna).
  • Thursdays from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM: Group training in the Sit Training group room (Sundebygget).

The training sessions are free for all employees. Just show up at the scheduled times; no registration is necessary. Instructors from Sit will lead the sessions.

  • To access the gymnasium for Thursday sessions (for those who are not members), please use the entrance gate from Lanterna. It will remain open during our training. The changing rooms in Lanterna are still at our disposal.

In May and June, there may be changes related to exam schedules in the gymnasium.

  • Fitness and Strength:
    • This refers to a high-intensity workout. It typically includes a collective warm-up followed by the main workout. The training targets both strength, endurance, balance, and mobility. The workout setup may vary but is generally station-based. All exercises can be scaled and adjusted to individual needs. The session concludes with core exercises or stretching.
  • Strength Classes:
    • These sessions have a moderate intensity focus on building strength. Functional exercises are used to strengthen major muscle groups and core muscles. Key exercises are repeated weekly to track personal progress. The workout intensity and exercises are customized for each individual. The session includes a collective warm-up and cool-down

Training at Sit

Employees can sign up for membership in Sit training in Sundebygget. See prices and terms at Sit.

The offerings include self-training, group classes, and even physiotherapy.

Football practice

Football Training:

  • Time and Location: Football training on Tuesdays from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the gymnasium at Lanerna.
  • Target Audience: All NTNU employees in Ålesund. Our focus is not purely competitive; the main goal is to have fun and enjoy ourselves!

Basketball

Basketball hoops will be installed in the gymnasium at Lanterna, with basketball training sessions on Wednesdays from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Swimming at Moa Swimming Hall

You can use one hour during work hours each week for training. If you’d like to use that hour for swimming, you can sign up on the list with Amalie: amalie.v.h.vadset@ntnu.no
