You may be entitled to a disability pension if you have to reduce your work hours due to illness, treatment, or injury. You can receive a permanent disability pension or one granted for a limited period. You do not need to be completely unable to work in order to be granted a disability pension. It can also be taken out partially.
Disability pension after sick leave
The pension is normally paid after one year of sick leave. To maintain your right to a position at NTNU, you may apply for unpaid leave, either partially or in full. Submit your application for unpaid leave in the Self-Service Portal. Unpaid leave due to illness is normally granted for up to one year. Read more on the sick leave information page.
