How to apply for an extension

  1. Email the Unit for international relations using the correct address below within the deadline:
    1. Mark the subject line in the email with "Extension of stay"
    2. Include an overview of the courses you would like to take next semester. To be a full time student you need to take 30 credits which usually corresponds to 4 courses.
    3. You need to include a confirmation from your home institution that they approve of the extension of your exchange stay and that it will count as a part of your degree.
    4. If you plan to do a thesis or project work, you will also need to provide a confirmation from your project supervisor at NTNU. This confirmation needs to include the dates they will supervise you and information about any course you will be registered to.
  2. When you have been formally accepted for another semester at NTNU, contact the housing representative at the International office. The International office will contact Sit and ask for an extension of your housing contract. Note that you are not guaranteed student housing.
