Fitness initiatives for employees in Gjøvik

For employees in Gjøvik. Norsk versjon - Trening for ansatte NTNU i Gjøvik. See also Training for employees or the FAQ on training during work hours.

The hour you are allowed to exercise during work hours each week can only be used during the applicable week. You can not save up hours, or e.g. use the swimming pool for free more than once/week.

Jogging (group)

Morning jog: A run in calm tempo/ "talking pace".

Thursdays at 07.30, we meet at the main entrance to the Helvin building.

Badminton (group)

Training hours (alternatives):

  • Tuesdays 15:00 -16:00 in Campus Arena Gjøvik (lane 1).
  • Wednesdays 15:00 - 16:00 in Campus Arena Gjøvik (lane 1).

Yoga (group)

Yoga for employees is in meeting room G303 (Gneis building, 3rd floor). The classes suit most people, you do not have to be flexible or athletic.

Instructions are in Norwegian.

Fitness room (individual)

You find the fitness room for employees in the basement of Building Helvin.

Please clean all equipment after use.

Swimming (individual)

Employees in Gjøvik has free access to swimming pool facilities in Gjøvik/Tranberghallen, 1 swim/week/employee. Remember to bring your NTNU ID (your name is written on a list when you swim for NTNU).

If you swim more than 1 day/week, you have to buy ordinary tickets for the additional swims (do not write your name on the list).

Opening hours in Tranberghallen:

  • Tuesday 15-18
  • Thursday 15-18
  • Friday 16.15 - 17.40 (warm water)
  • Sunday 10-14

The pool is closed during christmas and easter.

Padel

Employees (included Phd-students) at NTNU in Gjøvik can play padel on courts for two or four players. NTNU-funded padel is possible as long as there are available "credits". Padel takes place within "one hour of training during working hours" and courts are therefore initially booked for one hour. Initiative for game time or registration for playing takes place via the Teams team "Padel at NTNU in Gjøvik" (https:~//s.ntnu.no~/padel). Padel is reserved for employees and neither friends nor family should participate in games financed by NTNU.
