Accessibility

Connecting to NTNU through VPN is only available for NTNU's students and staff.

To use NTNU's VPN you can install Cisco Anyconnect on macOs.

Download from vpn.ntnu.no

When the file is downloaded, open finder, navigate to the Downloads folder and run the installation file for cisco-secure-client.

When the installation is finished, the app will ask for some permissions which are necessary for the VPN service to work. What is usually the first one is shown below.

Click on "Open System Settings". You will then be redirected to the window below. If that does not happen, follow these steps: Click on the mac icon to the top left -> Open system setting -> General -> "Login items and Extensions" -> "Sort extensions by categories" -> "Network extensions". Click on the slider to the right of "Cisco Secure Client - Socket Filter".

You will then be prompted to accept the activation, either by using your fingerprint or your Mac password as shown below.

You will then get the prompt shown underneath. Click on "Allow".

Your VPN service is now installed and you are ready to connect.
