If you cannot take an examination due to illness or for other pressing reasons, you must apply for legitimate absence with documentation. Note that if you have an exam that spans over several days, the department may consider giving you an extended deadline. Contact the department responsible about this. If you submit by the deadline, you do not need to apply for a valid absence on the exam.

Application form and deadline

The deadline for applications regarding legitimate absence is no later than one week after the exam.

Documentation is submitted through eDialog together with the application. You must attach documentation for us to process the application. You can only upload files in the following format: pdf, word, jpeg, tiff, png.

Processing time is 7-10 working days.

Requirements for documentation

• The documentation from doctor/health trust, pries, military or other
• The students themselves must send the documentation, and thereby consent to providing the necessary health information

Illness during exams

If you become ill during an exam arranged on campus, please contact an invigilator (written exam) or the examinator (oral exam). See a doctor as soon as possible, and submit an application with a health certificate as described above.

If you must abort the exam, do not submit your answer.

Note that for home exams in Inspera Assessment, in most cases your answer will be automatically submitted when the examination time expires. This happens when you have answered at least one question. To avoid submitting something unintentionally, we recommend that you use the “Submit blank” option, especially if you have opened the test and viewed the question set. To submit blank, go to the menu in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

If you have submitted the exam answer paper, this will override a self-certification of absence that you submit afterwards. In other words, you cannot withdraw an exam answer paper after you have submitted it.
