Canvas is replacing Blackboard and will be NTNU's new learning management system from August 2026. The first implementation phase begins in the spring semester of 2026, and all courses will transition to Canvas from the fall semester of 2026.
Get Started with Canvas
Once you have logged into Canvas, you will find the "Canvas for Learning" course on your dashboard. This course provides a hands-on introduction to Canvas. You will learn how to use the platform to create engaging learning and assessment experiences, customize learning materials, and design activities. The course also shows you how to use Canvas for collaboration, communication, feedback, and peer assessment.
