Software available to employees and students on virtual desktop (VDI)

There are four virtual desktops available, they have different applications, features, and performance depending on use.
| CAD desktop | Desktop for CAD and simulating software |
| Employee desktop | Desktop for employees, including applications that only employees use |
| MathStat desktop | Desktop for math, statistics, and office software |
| Scientific desktop | Desktop for general engineering/scientific software |
There are two ways to connect to Virtual Desktop (VDI), either via browser or via client. The best experience and graphics performance is achieved by using the client. You don't need VPN if you are outside the campus network.
To connect with a browser, use the URL https://desktop.ntnu.no
