The training course in information security is mandatory for all students and employees at NTNU. You will receive an email with a link to the course the day after you have activated your user account at NTNU.

Is the link to the course safe as it goes to an external page?

Yes, the link is safe, the training course is linked to Nettskjema. Nettskjema is a service at NTNU that is used to collect data. More information about Nettskjema can be found here. You will be asked to log in with your Feide account.

Why should I take this course?

There are various levels of knowledge at NTNU regarding information security, but it is important that both employees and students have a common basic level of knowledge so that together we can help safeguard our values. To ensure that we all have this common basic level of knowledge, everyone must take the course.

Does this course apply to both staff and students?

Yes, this training course is compulsory for both students and employees at NTNU.

Which user groups will receive the course?

Anyone who activates a user account at NTNU will receive the training course.

What is the deadline for completing the course?

The course must be taken shortly after you are notified of this, but if the course is not completed, you will receive reminders every 30 days.

I have been notified that I have not taken the course, but I have done this in the past. What is the reason?

After the course is completed, you must press "complete" for it to be registered on our systems.

What happens if I do not take the course?

If you do not take the course within a certain time, you will receive reminders by email to take the course. The course is compulsory for all employees and students at NTNU. In the long term, it may be appropriate to introduce sanctions if the course is not completed.

How can I see whether I have completed the course before?

Then you have probably received an email with a receipt with a completed course. If you are unsure whether you have completed the course, retake it!

How can NTNU see if I have completed the course?

Each user logs in with their Feide account. When you press finish on the course, a message is sent back to NTNU's systems that store the information that your user has completed the course. The information will also be used for statistics on the number of courses completed.

Will there be similar courses in the future?

We want to create a good security culture at NTNU, and in the future there will be new courses for both employees and students that will create a boost of common knowledge on information security.

I have feedback about the course, where do I send it?

When you complete the course, you will get a separate comment field where you can write feedback. If you have further feedback, this can be sent to sikkerhet@ntnu.no
