The master’s thesis in graduate engineer programmes should be written in the language that is most relevant for the thesis’ content and practically possible for the individual master student. The appropriate language is decided by the faculty in the individual situation.

Master’s theses written in Norwegian must have an abstract written in English or another relevant foreign language.

Master’s theses written in a non-Scandinavian language must have an abstract written in Norwegian. The faculty can grant an exemption from this rule if the student speaks a foreign language and is not proficient in any of the Scandinavian languages (Norwegian, Swedish or Danish).
