Procedure for gaining access to the laboratories at the Department of Energy and Process Engineering (EPT) as an employee or student, and approval of access for the supervisor / Head of lab.

Lab access for employees and students

To gain access to the laboratories at EPT, you as an employee or student must follow these steps:

1. Complete the HSE course (Læringsportalen), approximately 30 minutes. Once the course is completed in Læringsportalen, you will be able to sign up for the HSE tour.
2. Mandatory HSE tour in the laboratory.
3. Go to Læringsportalen, click "Finish KOMPETANSELØP", enter the name of your supervisor / leader, and click "SIGN". Then, wait for approval from your supervisor / Head of lab.

For supervisor / Head of lab: Approve lab access

This is what you as a supervisor / Head of lab must do in order for an employee or student to gain access to the lab:

1. Open the email from Læringsportalen confirming that they have completed the competency program
2. Click "open page to sign" in the email. Under "Resources", you MUST choose which laboratory they will be allowed access to. Click on the empty field, and a menu with options will appear on the left side.
3. Remember the expiration date. Students will typically stay at EPT for 12 months, while PhD and postdoctoral candidates (temporary employees) typically stay for 2 to 3 years.
4. Click "SIGN".
