What is Bookitlab?

Bookitlab is the new Core Facility Management System (CFMS) at NTNU. Although the name suggests it is only for core facilities, it is basically a booking system made for booking and administration of research infrastructure. It can also be used for registering loans and the use and reservations of other types of equipment.

Everyone with an NTNU Feide account can log in to Bookitlab.

Who can use Bookitlab?

All labs and core facilities can use Bookitlab. The benefit for NTNU increases with more widespread use. Wondering whether this could be relevant for one or more of your rental labs/cores? Get in touch with us at NTNU Hjelp. 

How do you get started?

Training will be done in steps based on 3-4 sessions and individual needs. Involved roles will be the engineer in charge/lab leader/similar role as well as the project controller(s) (prosjektøkonom) at the units using the lab. In the sessions, we go through the setup of your unit, registration of instruments, prices and projects. An extra session might be necessary if other modules like services are needed. After a week or two of usage, there will be a session on invoicing.

As training material, we have recordings of previous sessions in Panopto, as well as written guides. Bookitlab has a user forum on Teams where you can find the guides. User support after setup will be via NTNU Hjelp.
