Management Group at EPT
The Management Group at the Department consists of Head of Department, Head of Administration with Group Heads of HR and Education and Economy and Finances, Heads of Research Groups and Laboratory Manager. The group meet every other week and gives advice to the Head of Department.

Mandate for Extended Management Group
The extended management group is an advisory body for the Head of Department and will deal with the following matters:
- Strategy and action plans
- Strategic staffing plans
- Budget and main distribution
- Research initiatives and profile
- Course portfolio and study program
- Financial reporting
- Internal organization
- Matters of fundamental importance
Extended management group normally has two meetings during the semester.

Education Committee
The Education Committee consists of the Deputy Head of Education, representatives of the study programmes at EPT, the lab representative and the Secretary:

Mandate for the Education Committee
- The committee advises the Head of Department
- Prepares strategy for long-term development of educational offerings at EPT
- Be the link between the Department and the Program Council for the various study program committees in which EPT is a participant (see study program council at the IV faculty (page in Norwegian)).
- Ensure good communication between the department, the study programs and the education committee at the faculty
- Be a program committee for EPT's 2-year programs that have not established their own program committee
- Evaluate applications related to innovative teaching methods and pedagogy
- Implementation and follow-up of results for NTNU's quality assurance system for education
- Contribute, together with the department's administration and head, to ensure good internal communication at EPT related to educational matters
- Staffing of subjects:
- Contribute together with the course coordinator for planning the teaching load in courses
- In the case of research seminars and leave, the committee shall contribute, together with the course coordinator, to finding a solution for the affected courses.
